Earlier today I posted on Neptune's FB page that I think it would be nice to have special packaging or labeling like the name founder's edition on the box just for the kickstarter backer's. I don't know who was first between myself and Elton who thought of the idea but we and a few others agreed it was a good idea.
Neptune responded by sending me this email saying "Hi Eric, Your inquiry has been sent to the tech team and they will see what are the possibilities in this regard. Thank you for the suggestion. Cheers, - The Neptune Team"
I know it might not seem that important to some but I believe it's important to establish the identity of the Pines we had a part of developing from the masses. And by doing this it will help Neptune identify us the backers when shipping them out. I for one would like know when my Pine is delivered it says on the box founder's edition then I would sort-of-know what to expect inside. I wouldn't want to open her up and see my pine naked. Wait a minute.... that didn't sound right! The wifey will kill me if she heard that, but I hope y'all know what I mean

Good one EJ. If all backers received the packaging bearing 'Founder's Edition', all will feel like they're appreciated and those feelings would last, this will make Neptune market and business expand more with the help from our friends publicities through their words and recommendations. .......... Well, except for one person who thought it was 'lame' and he even posted in Neptune page about it..its just so, unappropriate for an old guy..

Yeah I also commented on their twitter picture of the box and sent them a reply on facebook, I too think it would be nice to have a specialized box, I mean how hard can it be to get some standard extra text on the box if they are already doing it to the back of our Pine?

It would be less expensive to just slap a "Founders' Edition" sticker on our boxes.
Personally, my box will get recycled as soon as I get my Pine on my wrist.

There has been a response from Neptune, and they were going to went through about this with their Tech Team. They're going to imprint the 'Founder's Edition' at the back of our Pine, crossed-fingers, they'll likely agreed to imprint one onbthe packaging too. High hopes on this.

I agree... it would be "nice" if they had it embossed on the box, but doing two different print setups would just add more time (they're not printing boxing on an inkjet). How about they just give us a nice transparent "neptune pine founder's edition" sticker in the shipping box and you can stick it wherever the hell you want lol

I'd like to know what you do with the packaging that you'd like a special edition. I throw mine away/recycle/throw on a heap of packaging meant for keeping in case of returning the product. In any case I don't really look at it because I want what's in it removed from the packaging as fast as possible If my Pine comes in bubble-wrap I'm perfectly happy. But to each their own, no offence intended. idefix

I have a question for everyone, have you ever sold or purchased anything used before and the seller says in the description NO ORIGINAL PACKAGING INCLUDED OR NO RECEIPT. Wouldn't you feel a little apprehensive to purchase it? Plus haven't you heard about products in the pass that you found out in the future it was worth alot more if it was in its original packaging. To name a few, certain comic books, dolls, certain toys, and many others. Also, have anyone heard of a company named Gazelle? They buy used cellphones. When you go to their website to process the sell of your cellphone one of the questions they ask is if your phone is flawless. Flawless is defined by: Works perfectly No noticeable flaws, STILL IN ITS PACKAGING or looks like new Has zero scratches Has no dust under the glass So, by meeting all their criteria you get top dollar. All these to me are legitimate reasons why I think packaging is important even if it's just a concern of just a few of us. I know we don't think the same but please don't negate the wants or desires of others. If you decide when you get your Pine to discard the box, than that's fine. I would hope as a business standpoint you decide to keep it for awhile at least until you know your precious doesn't need to be returned. One last thing, nobody knows what the future holds for Neptune's first iteration Pine, but as for me i would like to have that feeling of anything is possible! Theres no offense talking, we all have our own opinions, peace!

For high end tech and gadgets I buy, I always keep the packaging in a safe place. Like EJ says, it improves the value if you were to sell it on at a later date. Plus I like to keep my tech complete with all the bumf, accessories and box that comes with it.

Neptune Pine can very well go down in history as the first truly standalone device that starts this wearable tech revolution in the right direction. Apple did it, why not Neptune? Just the other day I've read a several negative comments about the Pine on YouTube. I found it to be true in many cases when there is so much negativity surrounding an idea or a product before there's any actual firsthand experience it turns out to be very successful. I believe this will be the case for the Neptune Pine. I can't wait to read the reviews and see and hear the reactions of all the naysayers out there.

Every tech products has its own memento in its packaging. So i for one, will keep it to remind my self how hard it comes to my hand, and throwing one part of it will remind me how i waste my money like that buying 70% of it and not 100% (i considered packaging worth 30% of the purchase)...

I do the same, I still have my packaging of products I've purchased years ago, which reminds me to have a garage sale this summer. And I bet when I do sell the buyers will pay a little more if they see the packaging is included
