I am always curious in things like this and I have understood that Brian has the hardest labor of love I can think of.
I can kick it off.....I am a low latency trading system geek at an Investment Bank. Lifetime technology follower....Technology Evangelist to the masses...
Would be really curious to take a look at a development kit for the Pine.....such a cool little device.

I am a retired railroad conductor. Now I gamble a lot and try to figure out what you geeks are talking about. I have to say I am leaning very little. At 66 the brain does not catch on very well. I have always loved electronics but today's are quite confusing to me. I know what your thinking (Old Man Why Don't You Just Admit it Your Stupid) That would have been shorter and more precise. Right Elato

Former owner of a film and TV production company. Retired that career in 2010, in order to be primary caregiver for my autistic goddaughter. I now get to include homeschool instructor under that umbrella. An amazing girl, who has defied the odds and continues to do all the things that they said she would never do. Couldn't have made a better choice.

being primary school teacher brings me closer to tech as education today changes a lot...god why did i choose this at first? too much work / paperwork on online and teaching both English and Information Technology makes me total brain havoc..but thats teaching life. like Brian, i take care of special child (my son a leukemia patient and survivor) and being a parent was just as tough as others do...

Retired telecommunications engineer (microwave, fiber optics, that kind of stuff). At 72, I may be the oldest of the 2839 Pine backers. I wonder who's the youngest?

I work in UX design at a software company. I enjoy it very much because I get a lot of variation in my job and sit right next to the prototyping team who always have something epic for me to try out.

I am an MD/PhD candidate, that means when I'm finished wit school you can all call me Doctor Doctor Emmie :-). My world heavily revolves around the brain & how experience changes it. I also am a mom (I'm a huge fan of my son, he's an awesome kid) to an 11 year-old (he's growing up too quickly!).

I too am a former employee of MS from 1998-2002. After college, couldn't find a job to save my life so I sold shoes at Big 5 Sporting Goods in Seattle. Did temp tech work on the side, then got into tech support (even did contract Win 95 phone support), moved to a real support job at Attachmate (anyone remember green screen terminal emulation software?), while at Attachmate started doing tech writing and training, moved to Microsoft to do tech writing for Back Office Server, then moved into training and ended my time in Washington as the New Employee Orientation guy (probably the most fun job I've ever had). Moved back to Hawaii in 2002. Now I'm doing independent consulting for SharePoint. I'm also kinda having a mid-life crisis of sorts because I'd love to give up my tech career to play music for kids and kids at heart. If you're curious checkout my YouTube channel where I've taken children's books and put them to music www.youtube.com/vancemo I'm also working on a CD of original fun kid songs that I hope to have completed by Feb or March. If I could find a way to do music as a "real" job I'd do it in a instant. Sorry for the looooong story, but hey, this is like cheap therapy! Later, Vance
