We haven't seen any real demonstration of typing on the Pine. Do you have any idea of using an external, portable, Bluetooth-connected keyboard, like this one, for example?

I'm always looking for a really small bluetooth keyboard with physical buttons. I'd like something like the keyboards on a Blackberry or a Palm Pre. Really small but with buttons you can feel and depress. I'm much better typing on something like that than on a full sized virtual/touchscreen keyboard. Sadly I haven't found it yet. Maybe I'm the only one who would like something like that idefix

I prefer the models made by Rii and Donzo. Rii models I have two of them, tehy are very smart, one is operated by bluetooth, the other by RF 2,4GHz via dongle. I'm from germany, so I found the devices on the german Amazon site.... A big advantage for me is the integrated touchpad, the key illumination and last not least die media keys for volume, srt/pause, skip, and so on. Here some links, maybe they are available in your country: www.amazon.de/universal-Bluetooth-Tastatur-micro-USB-Smartphone/dp/B00CHKAK7Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392319878&sr=8-1&keywords=donzo+bluetoothwww.amazon.de/UNIVERSAL-Bluetooth-deutsches-Tastaturlayout-Smartphone/dp/B00GHMGHRK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1392319878&sr=8-2&keywords=donzo+bluetoothwww.amazon.de/Rii-Bluetooth-Tastatur-Touchpad-Deutsch/dp/B006D1CXJQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392319937&sr=8-1&keywords=rii

I'm also from Germany and I know those kinds of keyboards, but thanks! They are BIG I'm looking for something in the range of 5-6cm wide and 3-4cm high and under 1cm thick, like the keyboard on a Blackberry. I've never had a Blackberry but I had a Sony Ericsson M600 and then the P1i (both Symbian) and then a Treo (PalmOS) and a Pre and a Veer (WebOS) and I loved those kinds of phones because of their physical keyboards. Sliders like the WebOS phones are OK but I think I preferred the non-sliders. The P1i seemed always to be the perfect phone physically. Here's a reminder, those things weren't exactly the hype back then and it was a long time ago: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_P1Symbian UIQ was crap and the screen was of course bad compared to now but the form factor was perfect for me. WebOS was imho the best system, at least of the ones I tested but it died and was resurrected as a smart-TV zombie And since now there's really only Android if you're not into the Apple-knows-best-stuff and all phones look exactly alike and get bigger and bigger and with fewer and fewer physical buttons I'm a sad panda longing for the good old days. But here comes the Pine and it's cute and small and capable of anything except the physical buttons are still missing so I'd like to try a really small Bluetooth keyboard as a companion if there were one. just my peculiar taste, no offence intended idefix

It's a start I might get that one to tide me over until someone builds a really small one. Some people seem to have problems getting the keyboard to produce a @ symbol. *hmmm* Having a really small phone like the Pine and then lugging around a 'big' keyboard for it seems kinda silly. idefix

I think I'm going to break down and order the Celluon Epic. That way I will have time to play with it and see what limitations it has, before the Pine gets here.
