Hi Piners and soon to be Piners.
First of all, this thread is all about the PHYSICAL PERCEPTIONS OF THE PINE. So discussion based on its internal or apps/softwares are somewhere else.
This is specifically discussing about how we (users & soon to be users) look at using Pine as Smartwatch and Smartphone and so on. In many forums/threads whether here or over the net, people are talking about the Pines Physical looks, its big, bulky, thick, heavy etc..more of a Negative and less Positive, but this is peoples opinions and reviews, so its their own and global rights to say so.
So here we are, hoping discuss and talk about it for purpose of changing peoples Perception Thinking towards Pine and maybe overall help to change the way we see devices before using them.

Let me begin with mine.
Regarding the SIZA OF PINE. First i say will i be wearing 2 1/2 inch device on my wrist? So i went back take out a ruler and measure my steel Casio watch which i've been wearing for the past 2 years. It measured 1.6" wide and lenght (round watch) the steel band is 28mm, the thickness is 18mm and 190 grams in weight. That change my mind and NOT MAKING THE PLEDGE will be my regrets for years. And here i am, one of thousands of backers...kudos to Neptune. ...... Another thing that makes my perception to Pine different from others is that, im using a 6.1" Huawei phone and another 4.7" HTC. When we're using big phones, it change the way we see this Pine, its small! But i guess to those been living with 3.5"-4" phones will look at Pine, a big thing on their wrist.
Thanks for sharing.

For me, as I stated elsewhere, I use my Note 3 with one hand much of the time, so the size of the Pine doesn't really phase me at all. I think that it would make little sense to have a fully-funcrioning cell phone on your wrist if it was so small that you had to use a pencil point to do anything on the screen. JMO

JMO i think for people who is naturally big (has big body builds), Pine would kinda look small and with broad or big fingers like us, 2.44" screen will totally be small to type and press small icons. Pine does actually suitable to most small build people such as women with pointing fingers, but how many are there going to use smartwatches? other than Tamara, Emmie and Idefix as we know them here (women in Pine Chat), who would be a tech geek like them? If there're chances, Neptune can advertise/publicise Pine in different ways? show Pine without the watchbands but instead with the clip or bumpers with landyards? that would look cool considering women like things that hangs around their neck or holding it like slingpouch or something.

Tbh I think women are supposed to like pretty things. But I'm totally keen on showing it off. If it's big I don't mind, becasue it won't be ginormous just big enough to attract some attention to its Matrix-like awesomeness(did I mention I'm getting the black one?)
Also: It's a watch and I've always been about practicality. Watches are not jewelry.
Btw you overlook something very significant, Elton, something which is one of my pet peeves: Women's clothing. Does. Not. Contain. Pockets. Most of the time. And the tight jeans that constitute women's fashion generally make carrying cell-phones a difficult affair (also then they dig into your leg when you sit down or your stretchy jeans get stretched. But it's better than wearing pocketless clothing.)
Having a mobile device that is compact and can be almost permanently strapped to my wrist: Yes please.
End of story.

Mine are generally pointing towards the keyboard and my mouse. It's kinda hard to type/game any other way.

So I'm guessing you're not one of those girls who walk around with their phones tucked into their bra? =) I'm with Tamara. Oh yeah, not about the women's clothing thing, because...um, well I don't wear women's clothing. Of course not that there's anything wrong with that if your a guy that likes to wear women's clothing. Ok, back to the topic. I'm with Tamara regarding the practicality thing. I'm also at a point in my life where I'm not too concerned about the opinions other people have regarding my technology choices. While I think Elton's mission of spreading the WORD OF PINE is wonderful, I'm not sure that I can join in on a full frontal assault against our Pine naysayers. For me I'll be happily and quietly wearing my Pine and if someone inquires, I'll be more than willing to sing the praises of the WORD OF PINE until they beg me to stop. With that I bid those of you embarking on to the battlefield, best of luck and come home safely!

Dude... in the BRA? In this day and age of breast cancer awareness?? (Oh... and yeah I guess it might be visible particularly given the tendency of phones nowadays to be big and flat and sharp-edged.) (See what I mean about practicality and functionality coming before aesthetics? ) Yeah I'll probably not advertise the Pine... it can do all its own advertising as it's large enough to attract attention. Also geeky is in people tend to assume your technology is "indie" and "new" and if it looks different curiosity will win out. I think I have a biased perception in that to me computer nerds have always been the coolest people in the world. I see us as being like The Matrix (first movie). I'd call the Pine's size "extravagant", like an expensive and oversized designer watch. Think of the trenchcoats in The Matrix (which are black, like my Pine .) To me: it's awesome. Somehow I can't convince myself that it's not awesome just because some people prefer "thinner, lighter, smaller, smoother" (brand name here). Basically... I'm excited. Gogo gadget awesomenessOfThePine.

Great thoughts you have guys. Tamara, you have good points about women wearing jeans. Everyone, men and women weating jeans would have problems using phones especially when we are having to walk holding a device on our hands everywhere. Smartwatches like Pine does overcome that odds. ........ Vancemo, Well, this is not exactly a thread of assaulting or bashing the naysayers (do correct me if i miss the point), we are here to create a good thoughts and making Pine a device that people will look at as replacement or helping device for the purpose of easy to carry and comfortablr device other than phones. ....... Anyway, thanks for the ideas and thoughts.
Any words about how Pine can be suitable when wearing suits/coats especially business and executives looks?

I'm sorry I totally never meant to imply that anyone do any type of assaulting or bashing. It just seems like a really big uphill battle to get people who are already against our wonderful Pine to see things in a different light. I hate to say it but we the 2839 backers of the Pine are in the minority. Sadly most people will look at the Pine and think "who in there right mind would wear THAT?" With everything that is super cool about the Pine, there are those that will never be able to look past the size issue. And for those people no amount of features or convenience will get them to see otherwise. Will we encounter other people who are undecided? Possibly, but again, like us I believe it will only be a small group of people. The Pine, in my opinion, is a specialty device for a niche market.
