I just was curious how many people, providing the Pine works as well as we expect it to, plan to scrap their regular phone... maintain both... or use their Pine tethered to their phone, more than as a standalone device.

I'm going without a phone. In fact, I've already gotten a Universal Gadget Wrist charger (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ceca/) to use behind the Pine so I have extra juice.

i'll use both tethering and phone. and will use whatever Pine can do. that way i'll know exactly what Pine is and do and for any reason people say this and that about Pine, i'll have good and solid reason to fight it off......

Too many unknowns at this point. Will Sprint let me use it on their network? And what about my employer? I rarely use my Note II as a phone. How well can the Pine handle the non-phone tasks? Will the apps I use even be useable on such a small screen.
I am really hoping that mine does not get shipped the same time as every one else's. Give me more information to decide to cancel or not.

My initial Pine will be gsm, so I have a tmobile microsim ready for it, just in case. But, I also realize that since I have a winphone8 (Lumia 928) that I might not be able to tether it. So in time, I'm hoping the CDMA version works on Verizon easily, so I can switch over to it on my family plan.

well, I'm lucky as in we have the multiple sim option here in germany. I have three sim cards for my contract and plan to put one of them in the pine and one in my big phone (HCT One X+, not huge bit big). I'm hoping to use mostly the Pine and only take the HCT when I need the big screen for something. I opted for the first option even if I don't plan to throw away my big phone anytime soon. but mostly I'm planning to go Pine-only.
I loved my HP Veer, it's only slightly bigger than the Pine (taller mostly) and it has a full QWERTZ keyboard slider. I'm still not happy with on screen keyboards, much prefer physical buttons no matter how small. But sadly I had to abandon webOS due to lack of apps. I still believe it was the much better system.

As I do not have a smartphone yet ( only a big bone mobile from nokia ), I will use the pine for my standard device all day. The old nokia will find his place installed in my car.

I might be in the minority here (actually I might be the only one that is going to do this) but I plan to use the Pine as my primary device and tether my smartphone to the Pine. My thought is that the Pine should be sufficient for a majority of the tasks I do on a daily basis, calls, simple texts and emails, pictures, listening to music, etc. However, I would like to have the option of a larger device to do web browsing and composing longer emails.

vancemo tbh I'm also getting a tablet which I will use "with" my Pine. For purposes of sharing calendar events and such... probably just linking them both to my work e-mail which should sort out the rest. Maybe set it up to share notes and my design work from my tablet- (getting a Note 10.1 2014 as I'm a UI designer) between devices. But neither will be my "primary" device. I'll use my Pine for comms and most things and my tablet for organisational stuff and design work.

Haha, I had a motoactv as well, and it just did not do enough. I've flashed it back and forth between a stock firmware and a rooted one, and found that I really wanted it to be able to function as a full blown OS, not just the scaled back version that Moto put on there. Worked better with the stock firmware IMHO. That being said, I'll be using my Pine for both working out, maps, AND everything else I do daily.
